October 18, 2009Apple September Keynote Sum Up
September 11, 2009First off, the keynote was given by Steve Jobs. He is alive and well. He got a liver transplant from a dead 20’s car crash victim. Announced at the keynote were the following:
- iTunes 9 with iTunes Plus, iTunes LP and Home Sharing.
- New iPod Touch (same on the outside): old 8GB model dropped to $199, new 32GB model for $299 and new 64GB model for $399. The new 32 and 64GB models now support openGl.
- New iPod Nano: Same on the outside, kinda, now sports a video camera. New shiny colors, 8 and 16GB for $149/$179
- iPod Shuffle given new shiny colors in 4GB and 8GB for $59/$79 and a Special Edition polished stainless steel model with 4Gb for $99
- iPod Classic: Capacity bump to 160GB, still $249
- iPhone OS 3.1- uhhh…
What Time Is It? WCP#4 (but not really)
September 1, 2009
This one comes from a developer screenshot of his or her’s iPhone application. I really don’t know how no one caught this one before submitting the application to the App Store. Hey Apple, here’s another reason to pull an app! */sarcasm/*
Apple Schedules Annual September Keynote for 9/9/09
September 1, 2009Apple yesterday has scheduled its annual September keynote, famous for unveiling the new iPod line. This event dubbed “It’s only rock and roll, but we like it” will take place on Wednesday, September 9th at 10 am PST at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Rumors have speculated cameras being added to most of the line to a new tablet device to Steve giving the Keynote Stevenote himself. Only time will tell.
Amazon’s Boxes Are Obnoxious
August 29, 2009
Amazon, I can fit two more in there! At least it’s not as bad as Apple’s packaging.
Snow Leopard Launches, Us Pre-Orderers Got It On Time
August 29, 2009So yesterday was the big day. Those of us who pre-ordered have already received our orders at our front doors. Although I am not home, I have confirmed the delivery with two sources, one being FedEx. Apple even brought back the Apple stickers to their stuff, for lack of a better word:
“Snow Leopard has landed… and the stickers are back!”- @formaceyesonly
There’s noting else to really say… except that my apps are updated and my Mac is ready for a final pre-Snowy backup minus the system files. For those ready to install, I wish you luck and make sure you have a backup!
PSSST! Check out the unofficial Snow Leopard Wiki, to see if all of your favorite apps will be compatible.
Microsoft Sucks At Photoshop… WCP#3
August 26, 2009
What we’re looking at here is the difference between Microsoft’s US site and their Polish site. Yep. The un-photoshopped picture has since been placed onto the Polish site but still. [Engadget, I added the circles myself)
Psst: It’s Called Using CMD+ Arrow Keys… WCP #2
August 24, 2009
This is a picture taken from a copy of the New York Post, advertising its iPhone editing news site. As masters of the using-photoshop-to-make-fun-of-people- scheme, it’s embarrassing that they can’t get a simple image overlay correct. As you can see, a generous part of the status bar on top is showing, along with the actual bottom of the screen.
Apple Building Gigantor Data Center, That’s A Lot of iPhone Apps
August 18, 2009Apple has been reportedly building a massive data center in North Carolina. Although we knew that already, we didn’t know how massive it was going to be. Gizmodo quotes Rich Miller, Data Center knowledge editor on saying “Apple is planning about 500,000 square feet of data center space in a single building.” Most data centers “don’t pass the 200,000 square feet mark.”
Apple has it’s current data center in Newark, New Jersey, currently about 100,000 square feet. No one knows why Apple is building this monster, but we can all take guesses. Here’s Jesus Diaz’s guess: “Here is mine: According to the note I got in this bag of Cheetos, Apple is building a massive neural network to hold a duplicate of Steve Jobs’ brain, so he can run the company for ever and ever. …”
